“the beauty of birth” - Peggy’s Birth Story

Peggy and Erik attended my February Castle Hill Group class.

We really wanted to thank you, as the Hypnobirthing class and materials helped us so much to achieve our positive birth experience. The breathing techniques and tracks were so good my favourite being the “Rainbow Mist” - I listened to the tracks each night before bed.

Also the class really taught me the beauty of birth and to trust my body for something that is natural and what women’s bodies are biologically designed to do.

The class also gave Erik the confidence to support me by helping with position changes, keeping the room calm and assist with the pain management tools such as acupressure.

I laboured at home as long as possible. The decision and timing to go to the hospital was when I listened to my body and felt it was time to go.
Early labour we had gone on walks (pausing for surges), watched a feel good movie ‘Eternity’ (would recommend if you haven’t seen it yet) and I was even baking date muffins! Distracting myself as long as possible was key!

Thanks to everything we learned, I was able to have an unmedicated birth and only laboured in hospital for about 1.5 hours before Evan was born. Things moved so quickly that our OB didn't even make it in time for the birth! My favourite pain relief management was the TENs machine and warm water from the shower - to the point that I actually birthed my baby in the shower at the hospital!

We're so grateful for all the tools and knowledge you shared, and we really feel they helped us achieve the birth we had hoped for.
