I thought I had a low pain tolerance - Yousra’s Story

Middle Eastern parents meeting their baby girl for the first time after a caesarean section. Mother is lying down in theatre, baby on her chest, she's looking at her baby with love. Father is looking down at both of them proudly.

I just wanted to take a moment to thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything you taught and supported me with during hypnobirthing.

I laboured at home for over 33 hours using just the TENS machine and the breathing techniques you taught me. When I went to the hospital, I was only 2 cm dilated, but I felt calm and mentally strong.

Things didn’t go exactly as planned and my birth ended in a caesarean, but I’m incredibly proud of how I coped, and I truly believe hypnobirthing made a huge difference. I remember telling you early on that I had a low pain tolerance I definitely don’t think that anymore. I still use the breathing techniques in my daily life and they help me so much.

We welcomed our beautiful baby girl, Summer, on the 19th She needed a short period of monitoring after birth, but she’s doing really well now.

Thank you again for everything. What you do truly matters, and I’m so grateful for your guidance during such an important time.

I really believe that a positive birth can look different from what we imagine and still be empowering.

Warmest thanks,

Yousra & Ibrahim
